How We Treat

The technique comes after the assessment.

Before recommending treatment, we look at your symptoms, health history, movement, daily demands, and what you want to get back to doing. That first piece matters. A treatment can only be useful when it fits the problem—and the person living with it.

Physiotherapy

Start by understanding what is limiting you.

Physiotherapy focuses on movement, physical function, and recovery. Your first appointment includes a conversation about what you have been experiencing and an assessment of the factors that may be contributing to it. Your physiotherapist will explain the findings and discuss a plan with you before moving forward.

Depending on your needs, care may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, movement education, and selected physical modalities. People come to physiotherapy for many reasons, including pain, injury, reduced strength or mobility, difficulty with work or daily activities, and rehabilitation after an accident or procedure.

Osteopathy

Looking beyond the one place that hurts.

Manual osteopathic care uses hands-on assessment and treatment involving muscles, joints, and other body structures. The practitioner considers how you move and whether another area may be contributing to the symptoms or limitations you notice.

Techniques are selected according to the assessment, your health history, and your comfort. Your practitioner will explain what they are doing and why it may be relevant to your concern.

Physiotrust service

Massage Therapy

Hands-on care with a clear reason behind it.

Massage therapy works with muscles and other soft tissues using hands-on techniques selected for your needs and comfort. It may be used to address muscle tension, discomfort, stress, or restrictions that are making movement harder.

Our Registered Massage Therapists bring different areas of training to the clinic. Before treatment, your therapist will review the relevant health information, discuss what you would like help with, and explain the approach they recommend.

Acupuncture

An individualized option within a broader plan.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles at selected points on the body. It may be considered for pain and other appropriate concerns, either on its own or alongside other care.

Before treatment, your acupuncturist will review your health information, discuss your reason for visiting, explain the proposed approach, and make time for your questions.

Psychotherapy

A confidential place to work through what is weighing on you.

Psychotherapy offers a private, collaborative space to understand thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and experiences that may be affecting daily life. Care begins with a conversation about what brings you in and what you hope will feel different.

The approach is adapted to the individual and may support concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, sleep, and returning to work. Your therapist will explain the process and work with you on practical, meaningful goals.

Selected for a reason—and fitted to the person.

Physiotrust offers products that may support comfort, mobility, protection, or recovery. We help you understand the available options and determine the appropriate type, size, and fit for your needs.

When a prescription or insurer documentation is required, our team can explain what to bring and help organize the clinic-side paperwork.

Custom Orthotics

Made according to an assessment of your feet, movement, and individual needs. Orthotics may be used to support the foot or redistribute pressure.

Orthopedic Shoes

Supportive footwear may be recommended for selected foot or mobility needs. We can guide you through available options, fitting, and ordering.

Braces, Supports & Splints

These products may support, protect, stabilize, or rest a joint or body area. The correct choice depends on the condition, intended use, and proper fit.

Compression Stockings

Graduated compression stockings are measured and selected with clinical guidance because the appropriate size and compression level vary from person to person.

Treatment Modalities

Useful when they fit. Never included just for the sake of it.

No single technique or piece of equipment is right for everyone. After an assessment, your clinician may recommend one or more of the following as part of a broader plan.

Laser Therapy

Laser therapy uses focused light energy and may be included for selected concerns when it is suitable for your health history and treatment plan.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy uses acoustic energy and may be considered for selected musculoskeletal concerns. Your clinician will assess whether it is appropriate and explain what to expect.

Ultrasound Therapy

Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound-wave energy and may be selected as one part of a broader rehabilitation plan.

IFC

Interferential current therapy uses gentle electrical stimulation and may be considered to support pain management during treatment.

TENS

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation uses low-voltage electrical current and may be used for selected pain presentations.

E.S.

Electrical stimulation may be used for selected rehabilitation goals after your clinician reviews your condition and health history.

Vacuum Therapy

Vacuum therapy may be included when gentle suction-based treatment is appropriate for the assessment findings and care plan.

Decompression Traction

Mechanical traction may be considered for certain neck or back presentations. It is only used after an assessment determines that it is appropriate.

DOM Infrared Therapy

Infrared therapy may be used to provide controlled warmth and support comfort as part of a broader treatment session.

Paraffin Bath

A paraffin bath provides gentle, controlled heat and may be used for selected hand, wrist, foot, or joint concerns.

HP Therapy

Hot-pack therapy provides moist heat and may be used to support comfort and prepare an area for movement or hands-on treatment.

Postural Assessment

This assessment considers how you sit, stand, and move alongside strength, flexibility, work demands, and daily habits to identify useful changes.

Exercise Therapy

Exercises may be selected to improve strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, control, or confidence with movement, with a purpose connected to your assessment and goals.

Home Exercise Program

Your clinician may provide exercises to practise between visits, including the repetitions, frequency, and precautions that apply to you. Our video library makes many movements easier to review.
